How it works
- Sign annual contract with Botline. Pricing starts at USD 12,000/year.
- Receive license key — a
bo_ent_*identifier + paired HMAC secret. Save them safely (the secret is shown only once). - Install on your server — Ubuntu 22.04+, 8 vCPU / 16 GB / 200 GB disk, Docker. Total install time ~30 min following the runbook.
- Boot validates with Botline cloud over HTTPS. Hourly heartbeat keeps your status fresh in Botline's admin panel for support.
- Use as normal — the dashboard is identical to the cloud product. The marketing site, Botline support inbox, and license issuance UI are stripped from the self-hosted bundle.
What stays in your infrastructure
- All WhatsApp messages and customer PII
- Your knowledge base documents and embeddings
- AI provider keys (BYO — Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, or your own private model)
- Stripe / payment data (if you use billing features)
What we see (telemetry)
Once per hour your instance reports: instance ID, hostname, software version, message count, conversation count. No message content, no customer phone numbers, no business data. This lets us tell you when you're due for an update and lets our support team see that your install is healthy.
